The Huntsville Assistance Program (HAP) is composed of local Christian churches that have the desire to assist the needy in Madison County Alabama by providing funding, volunteers and other support. Each member church may be represented on the Board of Directors by a primary representative and has the option to appoint an alternate representative. HAP was incorporated in the State of Alabama on December 18, 2002 and is designated as a non-profit charity under the provision of Section 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code. HAP is headquartered in Huntsville, Alabama and has a satellite office in Toney, Alabama. The Board of Directors is the governing body; the HAP Director oversees the benevolence responsibilities and the Clearing House, a data base that contains information regarding the clients that are served. The Board and Corporate officers are the President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary. The Board of Directors adopted the present HAP Mission Statement, Statement of Faith and bylaw in May 2008.
